Agency History
Tri-Town stands proudly as one of the nation’s oldest independent insurance agencies and brokerages, boasting a legacy that outshines even industry giants like Allstate, Nationwide, and Geico. Among thousands, Tri-Town holds the prestigious title of being the thirty-third agency appointed by The Hartford Insurance Companies, an institution synonymous with the origins of insurance. This year, we are celebrating 100 years of service!
In 1977, A. Thomas Poulton took the helm and aptly named the company Tri-Town Agency Inc. to reflect its multiple locations. The second generation of this locally-owned family business began in 1987, and the proud legacy continues.
Tom continues to share his wealth of experience, as the agency continues to grow and prosper while collaborating with his two sons. Art and Scott bring a combined experience of over 68 years to the agency.

Our headquarters located in Historic River Row in Owego, New York, has been serving the community for over 6 decades. We also have offices in Bainbridge and Whitney Point which serve the Southern Tier of New York, Northern Pennsylvania, and the Carolinas.
